I´ve met lots of people from JP fans and paleontology enthusiasts, which are getting very nervous, because we didn´t get JPIV news for couple of weeks...
But is here a reason to be worried? No, I don´t think so - it is just  really soon to want to know any further details.
JPIV was confirmed couple of times last and this year. What more do you want? Joe Johnston and Steven Spielberg are pretty busy now and will be for some time. (According to wikipedia update is perfect script completed, Johnston will be director, Spielberg producer and production should start in 2011/2012)
There is no need to be worried - Joe Johnston said, that "There is going to be Jurassic Park IV." I don´t know as you, but I definitely believe him. He confirmed it couple of times.
I can tell you, that I don´t expect any breaking news this year. Joe Johston will be working on Captain America in the Great Britain and I believe, that he will be pretty busy. Also Steven Spielberg has lots of things to do now.
Do you remember, how it was with The Wolfman/Captain America turning point? Fans got rough informations after premiere of The Wolfman, and there is not a reason to think, that it will be different with Cpt. America/JPIV. I really expect crucial informations about JPIV not until Spring/Summer next year. But this doesn´t mean, that we will not get any news this year - sure, that we will probably get some rough informations.
Don´t get me wrong please, I want further JPIV news as soon as possible, but it is highly unlikely.
The only thing, which we can do at the moment is to wait - nothing more and nothing less. Just give it some time...  Wink

I'm much more worried about the handling of the film, actually. How come Johnston still thinks that the "dinosaurs with guns" idea has any merit to it. I mean, sure, some of the dinosaurs in the previous three(especially Dilophosaurus) appear quite mutated by nature. But that is still eons more passable than dino-human-hybrids(aka Homocraptors). While it's true that these movies are made both to casual fans and geeks the film-makers should respect the latter not just for the sake of spared continuity but also in respect to Crichton who's mind formed the story. The sequels are just inconsistent because they barely have any relation to his two novels(a feat only the first movie succeeded in). There's a reason why it has taken so long to conceive the fourth movie, the concept has been made too superficial and non-related to the premise as Crichton wrote it. Plenty of potential in danger of being lost to obscurity for other words. I mean, why take such an immense leap in the looks of the Velociraptor for instance? Why not have scaly types aside the feathered ones? The more the merrier and no butchered consistency. They don't need to outdo the original to make satisfying installments. Angry

I think it's just the fact that he leaves us wanting more. We want to know details as soon as possible because we've been waiting for almost 10 years.

I'm not worried, I'm happy, but I just don't want to see it fall out of production again.

Here's hoping Captain America is a huge hit.

I hope it doesnt fall out of production as well, although it is likely to happen again :/ I mean, its happened so many times before, how can we know it wont happen again?

I like to go on the fact that Joe's never been interested in directing JPIV until now, and this new idea has got him involved. Obviously I'd like to hear something from Spielberg too.
